Marty obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia in May 1977. Marty received invaluable experience and advice from the top British Columbia trial lawyers of the time while working for the firms of Braidwood Nuttal and McKenzie Brewer in Vancouver.
In 1979, Marty relocated with his family to the Okanagan Valley, where he sought to learn his trade, and worked with the Provincial Crown as a prosecutor. After 3 years, Marty left the public service and has since excelled in his own private practice.
With over 40 years' experience in all levels of the British Columbia court system, Marty has experienced significant success, and has earned his reputation of vigorously championing the rights of his clients. His extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Personal Injury, Criminal Law and Civil Law are a benefit to all who seek his counsel.
Marty is dedicated to the recovery community and is committed to helping others. As well as donating his time to the Lawyer's Assistance Program, he is an avid motorcyclist and a contributing member of the Association of Injured Motorcyclists (AIM).
Paul’s practice is focused primarily on civil and commercial litigation. Paul has a broad range of civil litigation experience and focuses primarily on personal injury claims, debtor/creditor disputes and employment issues. He also acts for clients in relation to insurance disputes and companies involved in commercial and construction litigation.
As an experienced personal injury lawyer, Paul has acted for clients in BC who have been injured in car accidents, slip and fall injuries and assault cases. Over the years, Paul has acted for clients with brain injuries, psychological injuries, orthopedic injuries, soft tissues injuries and chronic pain. Paul routinely appears in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and has acted for clients in all levels of Court in British Columbia including various tribunals, mediations and arbitrations.
Paul was born and raised in Kelowna. He received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology from the University in Victoria in 2006. Paul moved to the UK in 2007 and received his Bachelor of Laws with an Honors Distinction in 2010 from Cardiff University. He practiced at a local mid-size firm for six years and was called to the British Columbia Bar in August, 2012.
Educated in the UK, Colby received his Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008 from the University of Aberystwyth Wales, receiving an Honours distinction. There he was ranked #2 mooting competitor overall, and was a member of the Oxford University Press mooting team.
Colby was called to the British Columbia bar in 2011 and began building his career at Heritage Law Group where he specializes in personal injury law. His general practice also includes family law, criminal law, civil litigation, and wills and estates.
Often seen riding a longboard around town or hitting the slopes in the winter, Colby keeps up an active lifestyle in addition to his practice. Colby also donates much of this time to the community, acting as Board Chairman for the Living Positive Resource Centre and active board member of the Okanagan Pride Society.
Brandy is our account supervisor and is a valued member of our team. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales in Cardiff. Brandy relocated to Kelowna from Edmonton in 2002 and she enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and two young children, enjoying all of the outdoor activities the Okanagan has to offer.
Working closely with both Paul and Colby, Tanya is a designated paralegal and has been with the Heritage Law Group since 2012. Having received her Paralegal Diploma in 1993 from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, she moved to British Columbia in 1996. Tanya is a longstanding member of the BC Paralegal Association and was elected Vice-President in 2016.
Pam has been with Heritage Law Group since 1990 where she has been a designated paralegal. Working with both Paul and Colby, she brings a knowledgeable wealth of information along with her capable and committed approach to litigation. Pam is available to answer any and all questions, providing special personalized attention.
Our always-friendly receptionist, Cheryl, is ready to meet you with a welcoming smile and warm greeting. Her many years of customer service and competency in a host of administrative tasks make her an invaluable part of our office. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys traveling, relaxing in her garden and walks with her dog Shandy.
