Marty obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia in May 1977. Marty received invaluable experience and advice from the top British Columbia trial lawyers of the time while working for the firms of Braidwood Nuttal and McKenzie Brewer in Vancouver.
In 1979, Marty relocated with his family to the Okanagan Valley, where he sought to learn his trade, and worked with the Provincial Crown as a prosecutor. After 3 years, Marty left the public service and has since excelled in his own private practice.
With over 40 years' experience in all levels of the British Columbia court system, Marty has experienced significant success, and has earned his reputation of vigorously championing the rights of his clients. His extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Personal Injury, Criminal Law and Civil Law are a benefit to all who seek his counsel.
Marty is dedicated to the recovery community and is committed to helping others. As well as donating his time to the Lawyer's Assistance Program, he is an avid motorcyclist and a contributing member of the Association of Injured Motorcyclists (AIM).
COLBY JOHNSON, B.A., LL. B. (HONS)
Colby obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Aberystwyth Wales in 2008, receiving an Honours distinction. He was ranked the number 2 mooting competitor at the University, and was also a member of the Oxford University Press Mooting team.
After completing his articles in 2011, Colby joined The Heritage Law Group. Specializing in personal injury law, his general practice is also comprised of family law, criminal law, civil litigation and wills and estates.
Colby enjoys an active lifestyle, and generously donates time to the community, including the Living Positive Resource Centre, where he serves as Board Chairman, and the Okanagan Pride Society, serving as an active board member. In his free time, Colby can be found long-boarding around town, or skiing up at Big White.

TANYA GROUTAGE, PARALEGAL
Tanya is paralegal to Colby. She obtained her Paralegal Diploma from Fanshawe College (London, Ontario) in 1993. In 1996, she moved to British Columbia and since that time has enjoyed building a career and family for herself.
Tanya has accumulated more than 20 years’ experience in various areas of litigation. She is a longstanding member of the BC Paralegal Association and is currently the Director for the Okanagan Region with responsibility for running Career Development for the BCPA.
