MARTY JOHNSON
Marty retired at the end of 2020 after a successful 40 year career and is now enjoying retirement in the Okanagan.

Paul’s practice is focussed primarily on civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on construction disputes, creditor remedies and employment disputes. Paul has a broad lien enforcement practice but has also been involved in many construction related disputes involving, among others, delay claims and building defect claims. Paul has also represented clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall accidents, sport related accidents, and other personal injury related incidents.
Paul routinely appears in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and has acted for clients in all levels of Court in British Columbia including various tribunals, mediations and arbitrations.
Paul was born and raised in Kelowna. He received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology from the University in Victoria in 2006. Paul moved to the UK in 2007 and received his Bachelor of Laws with an Honors Distinction in 2010 from Cardiff University. He practiced at a local mid-size firm for six years and was called to the British Columbia Bar in August, 2012.

Educated in the UK, Colby received his Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008 from the University of Aberystwyth Wales, receiving an Honours distinction. There he was ranked #2 mooting competitor overall, and was a member of the Oxford University Press mooting team.
Colby was called to the British Columbia bar in 2011 and began building his career at Heritage Law Group where he specializes in personal injury law. His general practice also includes family law, criminal law, civil litigation, and wills and estates.
Often seen riding a longboard around town or hitting the slopes in the winter, Colby keeps up an active lifestyle in addition to his practice. Colby also donates much of this time to the community, acting as Board Chairman for the Living Positive Resource Centre and active board member of the Okanagan Pride Society.

Brandy is our account supervisor and is a valued member of our team. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales in Cardiff. Brandy relocated to Kelowna from Edmonton in 2002 and she enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and two young children, enjoying all of the outdoor activities the Okanagan has to offer.

Originally from Ontario, where she received her Paralegal Diploma from Fanshawe College in London, Tanya moved to British Columbia in 1996. She met her husband in the lower mainland, started a family and moved to Kelowna in 2006. Working closely with Colby & Paul, Tanya is a Designated Paralegal and has been with the Heritage Law Group since 2012. She dedicated 10+ years as a board member, Treasurer and Vice-President for the BC Paralegal Association before she stepping down in 2021. Tanya remains passionate about advocating for paralegals and is a valuable asset to our team.

Hannah recently moved to the Okanagan and joined our team at Heritage Law Group in January of 2025. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in political science and economics and hopes to attend Law School in the coming years. In the meantime, she works alongside Colby, Paul, and the rest of the Heritage Law team, primarily in criminal law, family law, and civil litigation. She also assists in corporate and conveyancing matters.
When she’s not in the office, Hannah enjoys soaking up the sunshine on beautiful Okanagan Lake, getting out on the golf course, and jumping out of the odd airplane.

David is our receptionist and Office Administrator. Originally from Salisbury, England, David has a comprehensive background in business administration, client services, and project planning, and is our friendly face at the front desk. When he is not keeping the office ticking over, you can find him hiking with his family, out running, or writing music.
